This training is intended for physical education teachers and group teachers with a qualification.
Movement education teachers play a central role in teaching movement. It is important to determine the movement level of children in a reliable way and then offer them a customized program. Experts Talent Identification & Talent Development of HAN SENECA, together with a number of partners, developed a movement test (BLOC test) and program for elementary school students.
Ideally, children receive exercises during class that match their level of movement, challenge them sufficiently and teach them how to move (even) better. As a teacher, however, it is not always easy to teach differentiated lessons. The HAN Exercise Program is based on the Athletic Skills model and the basic document on physical education, and consists of 108 new and creative lesson cards. These lesson cards challenge children to develop various coordination abilities. The program aligns with the principles of the Athletic Skills Model (ASM) and the curricula in the basic movement education document.
The innovative idea behind the program is to focus on the development of these abilities and thus teach children to move better, with the activities serving this development and not being an end in themselves. This offers possibilities for a varied program in which activities that question the same abilities can be used, without these activities being linked to each other (e.g. no standard series of lessons or curriculum in basketball, but activities in which abilities to become more skilled in basketball are developed).
